Volunteer with BMCC
We’re always excited to work with volunteers who want to get more involved in our work. Volunteer opportunities are limited due to the confidentiality of our work, but we do have a few ways that you can volunteer! Please find more information below on the types of volunteer opportunities and please fill out the following form with your interest.
Mailings
Quarterly, BMCC sends out large mailings that require many helping hands. Would you be interested in helping us stuff envelopes and peel stamps? It is a big help!
Beautification
Interested in gardening? Don’t mind cleaning? Let us know if you’d be interested in helping us keep Black Mountain Counseling Center, in both Black Mountain and Old Fort, clean and inviting for our clients!
Tabling and Advocacy Opportunities
Often, Black Mountain Counseling Center is invited to table at community events, resource fairs, and local festivals and events. We always need volunteers who can help communicate about our mission, answer basic questions about our work, and invite people to learn more. There are occasional opportunities to advocate for mental health in our community, and we love it when folks can speak up on behalf of mental health. We provide training for this volunteer opportunity.
Volunteer Board and Committees
Black Mountain Counseling Center has a governing board and multiple committees. The Board and each committee meet monthly with some follow-up work between meetings. We are happy to have people join committees that match their strengths and not be a member of the full Board of Directors if they are looking for a lower time commitment. Please learn more about our committees below.
Board of Directors - Takes an active role in governing Black Mountain Counseling Center.
Development Committee - Responsible for supporting the fundraising activities of BMCC, including writing thank you notes, brainstorming events, cultivating partnerships with local businesses, and helping to plan our few annual events.
Finance Committee - Responsible for the smart stewardship of BMCC’s assets and assisting staff in financial decisions and planning.
Personnel Committee - Responsible for advising the BMCC leadership on hiring, job descriptions, and Human Resources.
Fundraisers and Events
We host a few large fundraisers throughout the year and a few events specifically for our donors. If you would like to volunteer for an event, please give us a call.
